Dr. Sheryl Cifrino is academically prepared as a health professions educator with a focus on utilizing simulation in nursing to enhance development of clinical judgement and reasoning in the academic setting. Dr. Cifrino continues to develop strategies for learner centered approaches in the simulation and laboratory settings.

Dr. Cifrino holds certification in healthcare simulation education and has worked in clinical areas during her professional career that include intensive care for pediatric burn patients, long term care and rehabilitation environments. Presently Dr. Cifrino works as a team member to ensure that the Simulation Standards of Best Practice are the foundation of the simulation program. Dr. Cifrino's areas of interest include use of simulation for competency based learning and utilization of Standardized Participants in simulation.
